Anthropic Rebuilds Claude for Small Business Around Lead Follow-Up and Marketing

The September 15 expansion adds 43 workflows and 27 integrations — including Shopify, Salesforce, TikTok, Square, Stripe, and Zapier — and pushes the plugin from bookkeeping into customer acquisition after 900,000 installs.

Anthropic on Tuesday added 43 workflows and 27 integrations to Claude for Small Business, retooling a product that launched in May as a bookkeeping helper into something the company says “extends Claude from running the back office to growing the business.” The plugin has picked up 900,000 installs in four months, and the September 15 expansion is Anthropic’s answer to what those users actually asked for.

What they asked for, mostly, was help getting customers. On a spring tour through 10 cities, more than 1,000 owners sat with the company, and roughly a third of them raised the same complaint: leads, inbound inquiries, proposals. Lina Ochman, Anthropic’s head of small business for the U.S., said in an interview the dominant question was blunt. “How do I make sure I’m following up on my leads?” She called the reworked product “an agentic starter pack.”

The three headline workflows map directly to that gap. An inbound-lead responder wires into 15 connectors, including Apollo, Clay, HubSpot, Salesforce, and Zoho CRM. A proposal builder that prices from past jobs runs across 17, including Docusign, Canva, QuickBooks, Square, and Stripe. A marketing engine for social posts and review replies uses 16, including TikTok, Shopify, Mailchimp, and HubSpot. Every action defaults to human approval before it ships. Meta’s ad platform, Ochman said, isn’t a connector yet.

The customer proof points are precise in a way that matters. Bambi Baby, a family retailer, tied $60,000 in sales to a Claude-built scan-to-wishlist tool over four days. KANE, a Princeton agency, says proposals that once took weeks now go out for signature “within a few minutes.”

This lands in the same month Salesforce shipped seven named Agentforce agents, Anthropic released its open commerce agent blueprint, and reaching AI-mediated buyers has become marketers’ top challenge. A fall tour opens in Boston across 10 US cities, with 14 partner webinars closing with Atlassian on November 17.

The bookkeeping era of small-business AI lasted four months.
