Omnichat raises $10M to put AI agents inside WhatsApp, LINE, and Instagram conversations
The Hong Kong platform's Series A, led by Openspace Capital, funds a suite of agents that build segments, close orders, and resolve service queries inside messaging apps — a signal that chat-native agentic selling is now funded to scale globally.
Omnichat, the Hong Kong-based messaging platform used by Dyson, FILA, Watsons, and L’OCCITANE, announced a US$10 million Series A on October 27, led by Openspace Capital with participation from Darwin Ventures and Acorn Pacific Ventures. The round funds global expansion of Omni AI Agents, a four-agent stack that handles marketing, sales, service, and analytics directly inside WhatsApp, LINE, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, KakaoTalk, and TikTok.
“This Series A marks an important step as we transition from conversational commerce to AI-driven commerce,” said founder and CEO Alan Chan. The framing matters. Conversational commerce, the category Omnichat grew up inside, has existed for roughly a decade as a thin layer of chatbots and template responses sitting on top of human agents. What’s being funded now is the inversion of that stack: agents that build customer segments, generate campaigns, recommend products, and close orders, with humans checking the work rather than doing it.
The traction numbers suggest APAC brands are ready for that inversion. OmniClaw, Omnichat’s AI business analyst agent launched in June, picked up roughly 300 brands within two months. Marketing Agent adoption tripled over the same window. Across its base of 5,000 clients, Omnichat says it’s generated more than US$100 million in revenue for customers, a metric that reads as a reporting choice as much as a result: platform companies increasingly measure themselves by GMV influenced rather than seats sold.
The capital pattern is familiar. Singapore’s Level3AI closed a $13 million seed in February; OneByZero took $20 million in October. Dealroom notes the broader APAC push to fund enterprise AI agents moving from chatbot pilots into live business workflows, with Omnichat relying on human-in-the-loop supervision for key decisions — a notable contrast with the US push toward fully autonomous agent purchases (Walmart opened its checkout to AI agents last week on exactly that premise).
For small B2C operators already running their business out of a WhatsApp or Instagram inbox, the implication is structural: the inbox itself is becoming the storefront, and the agents inside it are getting funded to scale. The recent survey of 25 agents that live inside messaging threads was the preview. Omnichat’s round is the capitalization.
