The Agentic Review

Pipedrive ships Nova, an in-CRM AI meeting agent, free on every plan

The SMB-focused CRM made Nova generally available on September 16 with pre-call briefs, live transcription, and human-reviewed CRM update suggestions — at no extra cost to any of its 105,000 customer companies.

Pipedrive made Nova, an in-CRM AI meeting agent, generally available on September 16 and bundled it into every paid plan at no additional cost, extending the feature to roughly 105,000 customer companies across more than 180 countries. The pricing decision is the story. In a week when HubSpot rebranded its entire agentic customer platform and Salesforce shipped seven named Agentforce agents as premium SKUs, Pipedrive is treating meeting intelligence as table stakes rather than an upsell.

Nova spans the arc of a sales conversation. Before the call, it drafts a briefing from deal history and prior emails. During the call, it transcribes via desktop app or a visible notetaker in Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams. After the call, it drafts summaries and proposes CRM updates that a human has to approve before anything writes back to the record.

That last part is the ideological line Pipedrive is drawing. “Everyone in this category is trying to build an autopilot, and I think that’s the wrong plane to be flying,” said Joe Futty, Pipedrive’s chief product and technology officer. The company’s own “hidden cost of selling” report gives the position empirical backing: 71% of professionals spend at least ten minutes prepping for every customer call, 47% take more than 24 hours to complete follow-ups, and only 23% say they’d be comfortable letting AI complete tasks without their review.

The numbers describe the exact friction that costs small B2B teams deals. Faster prep and same-day follow-up compress the interval between first conversation and close, which is the whole game at founder-led scale.

Pipedrive offered one pilot data point: Snug, a six-person Australian property-tech sales team, saved 30 minutes to an hour per deal meeting. “The tool essentially triples the size and effectiveness of our sales team,” said founder Justin Butterworth.

One customer isn’t a proof set, and the tripling claim is Butterworth’s, not a benchmark. But the strategic bet is legible. HubSpot and Salesforce are pricing agents as a new revenue layer. Pipedrive is pricing them as a defense of the base, which is a different theory of where the SMB CRM market goes next.
