Salesforce's AIforce puts CRM actions inside Claude and Slack, sidelining the dashboard

At Dreamforce '26, Salesforce unveiled AIforce — Claudeforce, Slackforce, and Agentforce Coworker — letting workers trigger prospecting agents and update records without opening a Salesforce tab.

Salesforce used its Dreamforce ’26 keynote on Monday to declare the CRM tab optional. In front of roughly 43,000 in-person attendees in San Francisco, Marc Benioff introduced AIforce, an architectural layer that pipes Salesforce’s data, agents, and metadata into the tools workers already sit inside: Anthropic’s Claude, Slack, and a rebuilt Lightning search bar. Benioff called it “an interface revolution.”

The framing matters more than the demo. For a company whose whole business has been the dashboard, moving the dashboard out of the browser is a concession that the point of value has migrated. Patrick Stokes, president of applications and marketing, put it plainly: the new architecture “disaggregates the UI and brings AI in to kind of replace it,” and later, “The value of Salesforce is in the data and the metadata. What we are doing now is exposing it to a new UI.”

Under the hood, the 37-skill Claudeforce sales agent that shipped in late August is now one surface among several. A Headless Toolkit exposes more than 60 MCP tools, over 30 coding skills, more than 4,000 APIs, and 220-plus CLI commands. Agentforce Coworker, embedded inside Lightning, activated 100,000 users in its first 35 days. Claudeforce ran with roughly 4,000 daily active users during Salesforce’s internal “customer zero” phase.

The prospecting stack sitting behind these surfaces is the seven-agent Agentforce portfolio, including Hunter, the outbound agent reaching general availability in November 2026, and Piper for inbound qualification. Benioff pitched all of it as “combining model intelligence with all the context that customers have built into Salesforce…securely governed, built with Zero Data Retention.” Anthropic’s Scott White reinforced the point: “Claude only sees what the person is allowed to see.”

Also announced: Koa, Salesforce’s first CRM reasoning model, post-trained on NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super with synthetic data spanning more than 14 industries. Salesforce claims 3x fewer errors than leading models on CRM actions, with U.S. general availability slated for Winter 2026. Pilot customers include 1-800Accountant, Baxter Credit Union, Formula 1, UChicago Medicine, and Xero.

The economics remain the friction. Independent reviewers cited by TechTimes estimate Year 1 costs of $270,000 to $540,000 for complex Agentforce rollouts, with eight to sixteen weeks of implementation, and Salesforce’s own State of Commerce survey found just 27 percent of commerce organizations report fully unified customer data. AIforce is a bet that if the UI disappears, the integration bill eventually becomes easier to justify. The dashboard was always the tell that it hadn’t.
