The Agentic Review

Salesforce's own agents mined 100 million dormant leads for $100M+ in pipeline

An SVP in Tel Aviv said 75% of Salesforce's 100 million leads went unanswered before Agentforce stepped in. The engineering team pegs the result at $100M+ in pipeline, 10,000 opportunities, and 1,500 closed deals — most of them SMB.

Speaking at the Israel Information Technology Conference 2026 in Tel Aviv on Saturday, Salesforce Area Vice President of Sales for Israel Itai Margalit put a number on something sales leaders have spent two decades not quite admitting out loud. Of Salesforce’s roughly 100 million leads, “prior to integrating AI agents, about 75% of them went unanswered,” he told Calcalist Tech. Agentforce, he said, has since generated more than $88 million in pipeline, work that would otherwise have required about 400 additional employees.

Salesforce’s own engineering blog, posted in April by Senior Director of Software Engineering Rajas Mhatre, puts the number higher. The autonomous lead-nurturing agents, Mhatre wrote, “generated over $100 million in pipeline,” “created more than 10,000 opportunities,” and “contributed to 1,500 closed deals within the SMB segment.” An earlier Salesforce newsroom post quoted EVP of Sales Adam Alfano saying agents “contacted 130,000 leads and created 3,200 opportunities” over a four-month stretch.

The structural read is the interesting one. Salesforce has a sales organization most companies can’t imagine resourcing, and three-quarters of its inbound still rotted on the vine. For a five-person B2B team, the capacity gap isn’t smaller in proportion, it’s larger. The leads arrive at roughly the same rate relative to interest; the humans available to answer them don’t scale.

That’s the gap other vendors are now racing into. We covered Floqer’s agents, which automate B2B prospect research and cut prospecting time by 70% last week, and Dapta’s $6M round to put an always-on AI sales agent inside small businesses a few days earlier. The pitch is identical: first contact, done by software, before the lead cools.

Caveats are worth holding. Calcalist notes Salesforce hasn’t explained how the $88 million figure was calculated or over what period. Salesforce’s State of Sales 2026 report says 87% of sales organizations now use some form of AI, but Salesforce Ben reports nearly half of surveyed Agentforce customers remain in pilot. Pipeline isn’t revenue, and a disclosure at an IT conference isn’t an audit.

Still, the 75% number is the one that’ll travel. It names a loss most owner-founders already suspected and had no vocabulary for.
