The Agentic Review

YouTube's Ask Studio puts brand-deal pitching inside Studio — and Ask YouTube turns into a shopping guide

At Made on YouTube 2026, Google previewed Ask Studio, an AI pitch assistant in YouTube Studio, alongside a shopping-recommendation expansion of Ask YouTube and an affiliate program reaching 35 countries by year end.

At Made on YouTube in New York on September 23, YouTube previewed more than 30 product changes, and two of them quietly rewired how small brands reach customers on a platform that ingests over 20 million uploads a day. Ask Studio, an AI pitch assistant inside YouTube Studio, will let creators draft responses to brand briefs, build proactive pitches, and tailor Media Kits to “match a brand’s unique goals,” with drafting arriving “soon.” Ask YouTube, the watch-page assistant Sundar Pichai told Alphabet’s Q2 call reached more than 140 million users in June, is being extended into a shopping mode that surfaces comparison tables and product-linked creator videos.

The through-line is that YouTube is collapsing two workflows that used to require intermediaries. Creator Partnerships, rebranded from BrandConnect per Net Influencer, is now in 20 countries, with 17 agencies and platforms holding API access to its data as of a June 2026 directory, dynamic brand segments running in up to 20 long-form videos at once, and, per YouTube, “hundreds of millions of dollars” in incentives to agency partners. The Shopping affiliate program has grown 13-fold in gross merchandise volume over two years, counts more than 1.3 million participating creators, and is set to reach 35 countries by year end. YouTube says shopping tags drive more than twice the clicks of description links.

The cultural read is louder than the metrics. Per the YouTube GenAI Trends Report, 72% of U.S. video posters aged 14 to 44 used AI to create or edit in the past year; the Gemini Omni conversational editor is being used by hundreds of thousands of channels a day; microdramas cleared 6.5 billion views in the first half of 2026 with TV viewing up over 90%; and more than half of YouTube’s top 100 creators count TV as their most-watched interface. YouTube’s own search help page says ranking “prioritizes relevance, engagement, and quality,” which is the sentence brands will now optimize against inside an assistant.

For a founder-led B2C brand, the practical opening is narrow and specific: land a creator partnership through the newly agent-assisted pipeline, and get surfaced when Ask YouTube fields a purchase-intent query. That’s a distribution job, and it’s the exact terrain covered by Upfluence’s fully-agentic Jaice rollout and Meta’s Muse shopping surge. It’s also the work LemonLime prepares for owners who can’t monitor every platform update. The pitch layer is now automated on both sides. Whoever shows up with a finished brief wins.
