MediaClaw debuts $1,000-a-month agentic PR platform aimed at solo operators and small teams

Marketwire co-founders Michael Terpin and Michael Shuler, with CTO Brad Rutten, unveiled an agentic PR system at PRSA ICON — pitched as a route into earned media for freelancers and one-person communications departments.

MediaClaw, a new agentic PR company founded by Marketwire co-founders Michael Terpin and Michael Shuler alongside CTO Brad Rutten, announced its platform on October 16 at PRSA ICON in Orlando, with a Standard tier priced at $1,000 per month and pitched explicitly at freelancers, small businesses, and one-person PR departments. The three-way bet is that research, media targeting, pitch personalization, follow-up, and coverage reporting, the connective tissue that normally justifies agency retainers, can be handed to a fleet of agents with a human approving the consequential moves.

Pricing stacks predictably. Standard runs $1,000 for one login and one agent. Team is $3,000 for three logins and five agents. Enterprise starts at $5,000, and the regulated-industry compliance mode covering SEC, CFTC, FDA, and FTC guardrails is bundled only with the Team and Enterprise tiers, which is a quiet admission that the solo-operator sweet spot sits outside regulated verticals.

Terpin, now chairman and chief strategy officer, says the company aims to “be the leader in agentic media intelligence and PR automation.” Shuler, the CEO, frames the pitch at the demand side: helping “any organization achieve world-class public relations results in an affordable manner.” The founders will run demos at the ICON booth through October 20, with a keynote titled “The Future of PR is Agentic AI” scheduled for October 18 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

The structural read is the one worth sitting with. Marketwire’s founders built their first company by disintermediating the press release wire; MediaClaw proposes to disintermediate the agency pitch deck. CommPRO situates the launch inside an industry debate about which parts of media relations survive automation, noting that smaller teams already lose disproportionate hours to research, targeting, follow-up, and reporting, the exact stack MediaClaw is pointing agents at.

The caveats are the ones every agentic-launch cycle produces. The platform is invitation-only, targeting its first 100 customers in Q4 2026 and 1,000 simultaneous users by Q1 2027. Agile Brand Guide notes that MediaClaw has named no customers. Booking rates and coverage outcomes outside the company’s own beta remain unmeasured. The pricing page is legible; the results page doesn’t yet exist.
