Contentstack launches Canoe, a free AI-visibility tool with an MCP server for agent-driven fixes
The company's first standalone product scans how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude describe a brand, benchmarks against up to ten competitors, and — on paid plans — hands the fix list to MCP clients.
Contentstack unveiled Canoe on October 1 at ContentCon Europe 2026 in Amsterdam, a free AI-visibility tool that scans how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude describe a brand against up to ten competitors in roughly two minutes. The company also flipped the switch on self-serve signups the same day, ending a years-long enterprise-sales-only posture.
Canoe is Contentstack’s first standalone product, and the shape of it tells you where the CMS category thinks the next funnel is. The free tier runs ChatGPT and Gemini once a month at $0 with no credit card. The Growth plan adds Perplexity and Claude, up to 50 pages per site audit, and a remote Model Context Protocol server that pipes the fix list into MCP clients like Claude, Cursor, and Contentstack’s own Agent OS. An enterprise tier is slated for early 2027; existing Contentstack enterprise customers get Growth entitlements through December 31, 2026.
The pitch leans on borrowed numbers. Contentstack cites Bain finding 80% of consumers rely on AI-written results for at least 40% of their searches, and Gartner finding 45% of B2B buyers used generative AI to research vendors on a recent purchase. AgileBrandGuide noted on October 2 that the attributions arrived without study titles or dates. Adobe’s Q1 2026 data showing AI-source traffic to US retail sites up 393% year over year does the same work from a different angle, as does Matthew Prince’s June figure that 57.4% of web requests were bot-initiated against 42.6% human.
Contentstack has been running Canoe weekly on its own site since July, which is the detail that gives the launch its tell. Founder and CEO Neha Sampat and SVP of Product Conor Egan are positioning the product as diagnostic infrastructure for a discovery layer the IAB already called marketers’ top challenge last month, arriving three weeks after Cloudflare’s AI-crawler default flip rewrote the terms of who gets indexed at all.
The MCP server is the part worth watching. It turns an audit into an instruction set an agent can act on, which is a very different product than a dashboard a marketing lead has to read. ContentCon US follows October 27–28 at Convene Willis Tower in Chicago, where the enterprise tier roadmap will presumably come into focus.
